David Eddings was born on July 7th, 1931 in Spokane, Washington, and grew up in Seattle.
He studied English literature at Washington State University and in Reeds College, Oregon. Between his college and graduate study (1955-56) he served in the US army in Germany.
He worked as buyer for Boeing and taught college English. On Oct 27th, 1962 he married Judith Leigh Shell; and in 1973 published his first book, the mainstream novel The Losers. It was, however, his first fantasy series The Belgariad which made him a world acclaimed author.
David and Leigh (who has been co-author of most his books; oficially since Belgarath the Sorcerer) live in Carson City, Nevada.
